State networks can support alignment of what happens during the school day with afterschool through professional development in a variety of ways. In Pennsylvania, PSAYDN is partnering with the Department of Education to promote and provide training for afterschool providers on Pennsylvania’s Standard Aligned System (SAS) and with NIOST to develop trainers through Links to Learning Training. In Texas, Edvance is working with the Texas Education Agency in a variety of ways, including developing an activity and lesson plan template, lesson samples and training for programs. Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about these efforts in particular and share their own opportunities and challenges in helping to support the development of alignment efforts.
