Afterschool as a Tool to Engage Juvenile Justice Stakeholders

Log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

In what ways can afterschool be championed as a crime prevention strategy? In Wyoming, the network is partnering with the Juvenile Justice Department and the Department of Family Services to provide afterschool opportunities to juveniles as a condition of their probation. The network acts as a clearinghouse for resources and development and facilitates workshops and presentations to make the case that afterschool programs can benefit youth on probation, lower at-risk behaviors and increase academic achievement and graduation rates. Participants will discuss strategies to engage juvenile justice stakeholders and learn how expected reauthorization of juvenile justice legislation will impact states and local communities.
