There is no need to reinvent the wheel, especially with the significant traction regarding afterschool practices and policy at both the city and state levels. When city leaders intentionally partner with their respective statewide afterschool networks, many new opportunities arise that save time and simplify and align policies at both levels. Join the conversation about leveraging strategies, including: creating quality standards, utilizing quality assessment tools, supporting the creation of citywide youth master plans, developing briefings for mayoral and city council candidates, shaping advocacy campaigns, drafting joint Lights On Afterschool! resolutions and designing citywide afterschool systems.
